Weekly Round Robins

Dufferin's weekly round robins provide the opportunity for people to meet and play singles and doubles with other players. Please show up 10 minutes early to participate in any of the round robins. All round robins are free for members.

  • Men's Doubles: A competitive men's doubles round robin.
  • Women's Drills and Match Play: For women only, the sessions include 30 to 60 minutes of drills followed by singles and doubles match play. All levels of players are welcome.

Dufferin offers a variety of social events that allows players of all levels to intermingle in a friendly and fun atmosphere. Sign up sheets are posted closer to event dates. There is a small cost to participate.

Charity Tournament

Dufferin will be hosting the ninth annual Heart and Stoke Mixed Doubles Marathon on Sunday, August 7. Organized by Marilyn and Gord Yuill, all proceeds from the tournament are donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario. To date, the Dufferin Tennis Club has raised a total of $2,343 for the charity.

Inter Urban

Inter Urban provides the opportunity for club members to play friendly and competitive matches against other clubs from Cambridge, Guelph and Waterloo.

Every Tuesday, the teams play either home or away matches consisting of men’s and women’s doubles and mixed doubles against opponents from other clubs. At the end of the regular season, the top four clubs in each division advance to the playoffs.

  • In 2011, Dufferin had one team in Division 2 ("B" Level). The Inter Urban team finished the regular season in first place with a record of 8-2. The team played against Hespeler in the semi-finals defeating them 22-10 overall in sets in the home and away series advancing to the finals against the second-place team from Waterloo who defeated Northfield in their semi-finals. Dufferin took a commanding lead in the first match of the final series and never looked back, defeating Waterloo 25-7. Congratulations on a great season team!

    Thanks to everyone who played on the team. Members playing on the team included Bev de Beer, Anne Douglas, Anca Gaston, Andrea Hebb, Dianne Lefebvre and Marilyn Yuill for the ladies and Brandon Armstrong, Ron Beckett, Don Fines, Lee Follis, Garry Horsnell, Adis Medanhodzic and Brendan Ringrose for the men. Thanks to Anca Gaston and Ron Beckett for organizing the team each week, organizing the food for home games and coordinating travel for away games.

    Dufferin was also the convenors of the league this season. Special thanks to Ron Beckett for setting the schedule and Andrea Hebb for keeping the interurban website and scores up to date.
